As part of Make May Purple for Stroke, the Stroke Association’s national awareness month, we're sharing Gerald's story.

Gerald, aged 70, joined Total Fitness Wrexham and recruited a personal trainer to help him regain his strength and confidence after having a stroke.

He's been learning to walk again with the help of Rob, who he has sessions with every week.

Watch, and be inspired by, his story:

During the month of May, the Stroke Association is calling on everyone to go purple and raise vital funds to show their support for people who have been affected by stroke.

Across the UK, more than a million people are rebuilding their lives after stroke. By supporting Make May Purple you can help the Stroke Association to make sure stroke gets the attention it deserves and to raise vital funds for innovative research into stroke care and treatment.
